Almost Home

Well, we're on our way home. Currently we're in Louisiana with probably another 6 hours to go. We left NC behind schedule yesterday so we didn't get as far as we would have liked. And we left late this morning, too. And we're probably going to be driving rain the rest of the way home, too. And since getting into LA we've already passed 3 cars on the side of the road with flat tires. But as we just listened to a sermon on the sovereignty of God by Dr. Greg Mazak, we are trusting that God will guide our tires to not hit whatever the others have hit!

As for the past week, we had a good time. We arrived in Greenville, SC on Saturday night & went to get pizza, hot wings, & a philly cheese sub from Wedgy's Pizza, Jeremy's favorite pizza place while in college. I have to admit those were really good wings! We went to church the next morning to Trinity Bible Church, which was Jeremy's former church while in college & where our brother-in-law Mark was once associate pastor before becoming a full-time Air Force chaplain. Dr. Mazak is a pastor there & he was my psychology teacher at BJU. We then had lunch at Corona's, my favorite Mexican restaurant there. Had many Sunday lunches there with my girls! Not as good as Mexican food in Texas, but still good. We then drove on campus & checked out the new gym & parking deck. Let me tell ya. Students are hooked up with that gym! Just awesome! Afterwards we drove up to Gastonia, NC & spent a few hours visiting a friend I graduated from high school with. She found me on myspace a few months ago & we just couldn't wait to catch up after nearly 10 years! It was great to see her & her family.

Made it to my parents' house Sunday night. And the rest of the week was pretty much spent eating. Why does that seem to be all we ever do?! We had NC bbq on Monday, Italian on Wednesday, 2 Thanksgiving meals on Thursday, Japanese steakhouse on Friday, & homemade fried chicken on Saturday before getting back on the road.

Unfortunately it will probably be at least 9:00pm before we get home. Just in time to unload the car, go pick up Kaylee, & come back home & go to bed. This is why you always need one more vacation day to rest after your vacation!
