Youtube Pick of the Week - Pushing Daisies

We heard some sad news this morning. One of our favorite shows, Pushing Daisies, is being cancelled. ABC is out of their minds. For one thing, it was nominated for 12 (I think) Emmy's this year. But it's also just such a different show. Not a reality show or another cop drama or doctor drama. It's just, well, different.

The show is about Ned. When he was a boy, his dog got hit by a truck. But when he touched his dog, it came back to life. He then learned that he could touch anything dead & it would come back to life. One day his mother suddenly died. Well, he loved his mom so he touched her cheek & she was alive again. But what he didn't know was that if he didn't touch that person or thing again in 60 seconds, something in close proximity dies in its place. So his childhood sweetheart's father, who lived across the street, died.

Later that night when his mom tucked him in bed, she kissed him on the head & then dropped dead. He then learned that if he touched someone who he'd already brought back to life, they'd die & stay dead if he touched them again. So from then on he never touched his dog.

He grew up to be a pie maker. He'd get moldy fruit & when he'd touched them they'd be the freshest ever & so he had the best pies ever.

One day a private investigator learned of Ned's gift & had a plan that they would go to a morgue where someone who'd been murdered was, bring them to life, ask them who killed them, then make them dead again, solve the crime & collect the reward. The exchanges between this two are so funny.

Well, one day the crime was the murder of his childhood sweetheart Charlotte, who he called Chuck. He brought her to life but didn't have it in him to make her dead so he told her what his gift was & fell in love with her all over again.

And they have been the cutest little tv couple ever! Since they can't touch they'll kiss through Saran wrap or hold hands while wearing thick rubber gloves. It's just too cute!

But apparently it's lost its popularity after the long writer's strike. Ratings have gone down. And we hear it's going to end on a major cliffhanger. I'm hoping they will do a movie to wrap things up because there is so much more to this show.

So in honor on Pushing Daisies I found my favorite little scene. It's really just the last 20 seconds that I love so much but it shows just a little of how ooey, gooey sweet it is. I'm not usually into stuff like that but this one is just different.

Oh, and check out the colors used in this show. I just think they are so beautiful & vibrant. It's just such a pretty & sweet show & it will be missed.
